Katy Wright has been in private practice since 1986. Before and during those years, she was employed at inpatient and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment centers. She has taught in the College of Nursing, the Department of Counseling and School of Medicine at the University of North Dakota. She has worked at Northeast Regional Human Service Center. After the Grand Forks flood of 1997, she worked in a counseling capacity for Disaster Outreach for a year.
Katy started training in hypnosis in 1994. She is certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Association of Clinical Hypnosis. She is certified as a hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists.
These are two of the major certifying bodies for hypnosis in the world.
