Alcohol and Drug Treatment

Katy Wright has been doing counseling with alcoholics and drug addicted people and their families since 1972. Katy has conducted very successful group counseling for those raised in a home with an alcoholic parent.

She worked in an inpatient hospital unit for 3 years. She worked in an outpatient agency from 1976 until 1986.

Since opening her private practice in 1986, she has done outpatient counseling with addicted people and/or their family members. Evaluations are a regular part of her workload. These are at the request of courts, attorneys, families, and individuals. Her practice is licensed as a Low Intensity Outpatient Treatment Facility.

Since training as a SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) 1996 she has done DOT mandated evaluations for people involved in the transportation industry: truckers, railroad employees, and aviation employees. National certification of SAPs was required in 2003, she passed the certification examination and is available to any transportation employee who must undergo this special evaluation.
